The Jouney began, part 7.

Fall Colors in Gorham, NH

On October 2 we arrived at Quechee State Park, Quechee, Vermont.

Here is Quechee gorge, from the top and the bottom.  This is a beautiful Vermont park.  The leaves were just starting to change.  It got really cold there.  No hook-ups so we practicing cold weather camping without power.  Normally our motto is if it's too cold OR too hot we move on!

Originally Josh, Zia, Cyrus, and Samira were going to meet us here but we changed the plan.  It was just too cold to have little kids withoutpower so we decided to stay just one night and move on to Timberland Campground in Gorham, NH. near the White Mountains on the 3rd.  We had full hook-ups but it was still COLD!

Josh and his family arrived the night of the 4th.  We made foil meals and cobbler, and roasted hot dogs over the weekend.  The kids favorite toys were our footstools and our lumbar support.  They strapped them on like shields!  On Sat. the campground had firetruck rides, complete with sirens of course.

This is where we finally saw the beautiful fall foliage.  It was as gorgeous as everyone claims.  There were  amazing water falls and so many covered bridges.  We didn't begin to see them all.   Our tourist activities were sidelined when I had to have surgery in North Conway, NH for an infected ingrown toenail.
