"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given;..." --Isaiah 9:6

Have you ever been to Bethlehem? Well, we went there Sunday night. What an amazing experience! It took over 500 volunteers and the display was open only 3 nights. I heard that over 6,000 people had been there the previous two nights. We arrived around 4:30 for the 5 p.m. openning and we were the 2nd group in. When we left over an hour later the line for the free event was quite long.

A live nativity scene is pretty neat, this is indescribable. As you walk into the town you find life as it was during the time of Christ, the market, cobbler, pottery, baker, animals everything. In authentic settings and costumes the volunteers describe in detail each aspect of the town, providing hands-on activities that mesmerize the kids and information that adults, as well as the kids, may not know.

Of course sleepovers, Alexa above Friday and Clara Saturday.

The girls made a treasure map. I gave them clues to the treasure.

The first clue? It's in the male. I tricked Alexa who was reading the clues. Because she was only listening, not reading Clara got this one.

Clue: the Lone Star State

Clue:  picnic time

After 7 or 8 clues they found the treasure.

Mom and Dad were gone so off we went for Indian food.

We started celebrating Clara's birthday early.

Where are the Piepers now? Houston, Tx
